The triplets are here and doing well! Click here for an update from Mom. Thanks again for your prayers. (For you curious ones, this family is my sister's aunt and uncle.)

Baby's Room
I've had my eye on this crib bumper since before we knew our first was a girl. My mom, with just a little help from me, made a slipcover to go over Elle's pink and yellow bumper for Grady's room. And we made the rest of the room relatively cheaply--crib skirt, curtains, basket liners, etc. However, our craftsmanship was not of the highest quality (no offense Mom!), and the slipcover ripped in a few places. When I saw this on sale for $19.99, I had to get it. Now I can easily buy a few coordinating crib sheets (which I need to get anyway) and a little fabric for some curtains and a crib skirt and voila, a cheap and easy update for baby brother!
Thanks to a little inspiration from Abby, the kids have enjoyed this rainy, cold day. **No word on the triplets yet.

A Small Request
I know there have been a lot of prayer needs lately circling the blog world and I'd like to add one. Please pray for the Byrnes. Their triplets will be delivered sometime in the morning. Mom is not quite 29 weeks. The smallest of the three was not getting the supply he needed. I realize a lady had eight babies today, but in my book, three is still a lot. And 29 weeks is pretty early. Thank you for your prayers.

We're officially outnumbered!
It's a BOY! We had our ultrasound yesterday and everything was wonderfully healthy and normal. I was 19 weeks but the baby was measuring 19 weeks and 4 days. He was very active and we got a great video of him. I was very excited to find out I had not gainded any weight. I say that because I gained SEVEN the month before so it needed to even out some! Maybe my few weeks of doing Denise Austin cardio workout is paying off (and not eating fried food at every meal, and drinking water instead of soda!). Elle was at school, so she got the news when I picked her up. She had been very adamant about wanting a sister. I tried to prepare her a little that morning just in case. She was okay with it, but then said, "Next time, I want a sister, okay?". I just made a big deal about all the special stuff we'll get to do being the only girls in the house. That seemed to appease her for now. We celebrated with chocolate chip pancakes, turkey sausage, strawberries and blueberries last night (Steven was out of town at an auction. He's not a big fan of breakfast for dinner so I try to take advantage of that when he's gone. Makes it a little more bearable!). When I get baby brother's sweet picture on the computer, I'll post it.

The Weekend
I am heading to Montgomery for the afternoon/evening to watch my talented and beautiful cousin compete in the Alabama Junior Miss pageant. The kids are having an afternoon with Daddy which will hopefully include a roaring fire (Steven and Elle are gone now to get firewood!) and lots of rough and tumble things that Mommy never does. We had a wonderful dinner date last night here with Steven's boss and his wife. And the kids did great for our neighbors who babysat. The only hitch so far has been the morning puke session for me. You just get to a point where you've done it so much, you just do it and go on about your day... and pray the Zofran works. Hope everyone else is staying nice and cozy this weekend.

He still does miracles
I know it always seems easier to praise God when things are good. And we do our best to cling to Him and walk with Him even in the dark times. We trust that He is just as Present then as when He chooses to make Himself known in a huge way. I wanted to share two miracles that He did this week that have me reeling. First, and without going in to too much detail, my hard-working husband got a raise! Considering how poor the economy is, that people are losing jobs right and left, and that the car business itself isn't doing too hot, you can see why this is a miracle. On top of the fact that we recently invested $600 in my going back to work part time (to ease just a little of the financial stress) which God in turn decided to give us another baby instead?! God has ALWAYS provided for our needs--even in those first years when we ate bread, tomatoes and cheese for weeks--He is always there. He has promised us that and He is faithful.
The second miracle is a "yes" answer to something I've been praying for for over a year. It wasn't personal but rather for some good friends of ours. And it is most definitely another miracle. He does still do them. Sometimes they are big, like the Red Sea, and other times they might be small, like when your child actually obeys you with a glad heart. But they are there if we will only have eyes to see.

The Heavy Drinker
The Pottery Barn bedding is not gonna happen. After seeing that what I would want to get would cost over $600, just for the bedding, I decided to lower my sights and realize that I could find (or possibly make) something just as cute for a fraction of that cost. We have also semi-decided that the kids might just share the double bed for awhile. Then our only cost would be to make the room both of their rooms with a little paint and new bedding. Right now, it's pink, yellow, green and very flowery. I'm sure it will take some training at bed time, but I think they will get the hang of it.
On another note, I have to apologize to the environment, but I think I am done with cloth diapers for now. I'm not sure if Grady is just getting too big for the "one size fits all" diapers or what, but we have constant leakage. Not to mention that I have had two accidents with the contents of a dirty one over the past week (i.e. the poop rolled on to the kitchen floor as I was trying to get it to the potty!). I wil say that Grady is a heavy drinker but we don't have problems with the disposable kind. Yesterday, I changed him right before his nap (and he was wet) and this is how his clothes looked when he got up 2 1/2 hours later:
I will put them aside for now and maybe use them again with #3. At least I saved a little money and a little bit of landfill waste for 9 months.
